Pray for Youth Missions

Perhaps if there were more of that intense distress for souls that leads to tears, we should more frequently see the results we desire.’ Hudson Taylor

‘He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.’ Jim Elliot

‘Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell.’ C.T.Studd

Today, there are 6.4 billion individuals in the world, a figure that is increasing by the minute! Of the approximately 16,000 people groups in the world, 6,900 remain least reached. Least reached is a missions term which means “lacking an indigenous community of believing Christians with enough resources and numbers to evangelize their own people group”. So that means 1 in 4 people have very little chance of hearing the Gospel. (Ethne 06)

In South East Asia alone, “least reached” describes 49.3% of the combined population. Yes, that’s nearly half of all South East Asians. For the non-math geeks, that’s about 271,769,000 people! (Ethne 06)

Pray for Missions:

1. That a youth mission movement to arise from this generation.

2. That young people may be challenged to live differently.

3. That young people will think of their calling and vocations as more than just fulfilling material needs and wants.

4. That Malaysia will send out more than 100,000 missionaries from our generation.

A few social injustices in our country

Malaysia is ruled by the rich and the powerful. With money, all manner of evil and injustice is tolerated and perpetrated. There is blood and a curse over our land because of great wrongs done so that the powerful can remain in power. Here is a list of injustices we would want to ask the God of Heaven to pardon, and may He intervene!

1. Unjust judicial system: The guilty declared innocent

2. Police force injustice/murder: Teoh Beng Hock and 350 others dying in custody

3. Religious intolerance perpetrated and instigated: Usage of Allah, revoking of permit of Herald, cow head protest

4. Foreign workers victimized: RELA officers mistreating, threatening and abusing our foreign friends

5. Innocent woman murdered by the govt, her blood cries out!

Thots after ThePlan

Leading up to thePlan, there were about 9 LYPGs existing. Since then, there has been requests to start more.

ThePlan allowed for more young people in Malaysia to be aware of what MYPG is. Many expressed their desire to start Local Youth Prayer Gatherings where they were. We will be in the process of gathering and strengthening these networks.

Many discouraging things are happening in Malaysia recently. The flames of prayer must not die, as we march on.

MYPG Basics

What MYPG is:

1. A move to raise the level of prayer among young people of Malaysia.

2. A move run mostly by young people.

3. A move that is covered (and supported) by senior pastors and leaders.

4. A move that seeks to work with other youth moves that seek to build and strengthen God’s people.

5. A move to prepare the young people of Malaysia for revival and social transformation.

What MYPG is NOT:

1. The ONLY youth movement arising out of Malaysia. There is also DREAM Malaysia, ThePlan09, Change Your World Tour ’09, etc.

2. An independent organization that is working without church covering.

3. A new denomination.

4. A move that seeks independence from any (existing) denomination, church.

5. Sets up prayer groups in each town by order. Rather, each LYPG that is born is started by young people themselves who want to pray and see genuine change in their schools, towns and country.
